Drainage & Ground work

Drainage is something we all use daily and probably never think anything of it. The only time we notice it, is when its goes wrong, drainage to this particular dewling had never been installed correctly and it was causing constant blockages. This drain carries waste water from a washing machine & sink to an exisitng soakaway.

The project started with a mini excavator, some careful planning, a 18m meter long trench and then a lot of concreting. We really capitalised on the summery weather and got all the concreting done without any rain!!!

In the pictures above you will see that we fitted x2 inspection chambers, they should be installed every time an underground soil pipe changes direction. One of the things that made this project challenging was that the exisitng drainage we connected to, was piped in a non standard pipe and it simply isn't economical for the client to replace it all; we used an appropriate adaptor fitting to connect our pipework to the existing.

The Soil pipe had to be routed underneath an access track which has daily use by light vehicular traffic, we dont leave things to chance and installed a reinforced concrete around the soil pipe for protection. Note the chamfered edges of the trench to help distribute weight ;)
